Become a Breathwork Facilitator that is Trauma-Informed and Responsive

Processing trauma is a common occurrence in breathwork, and the practice can be an incredibly powerful tool for supporting recovery. However, working with trauma requires care, skill, and a deep understanding of the nervous system and how to effectively support survivors. Without proper training, facilitators risk leaving participants feeling worse or even retraumatized. Our program takes trauma seriously.
You’ll explore developmental and intergenerational trauma, acute and chronic trauma, complex PTSD, collective trauma, and ACEs. Alongside this, you’ll learn trauma-responsive practices that ensure your facilitation is safe, effective, and deeply supportive for every participant.

Breathwork Facilitator Training Testimonials
Get to Know Your Passionate, and Experienced Breathwork Training Course Leader

First, I want to thank you for your curiosity in training to become an inspiring breathwork facilitator. Conscious Connected Breathwork has been profoundly transformative and healing in my own life, and it has become my life’s mission to help make breathwork as accessible and popular as yoga. I’m deeply grateful for anyone who feels called to join this mission.
As part of this path, I have trained with two leading international Breathwork Facilitator Training schools and had the privilege of working alongside seven of them.
I live and breathe breathwork! When I’m not facilitating breathwork sessions online and around the world, I’m teaching, running retreats, or researching and writing about the practice. With 15 years of prior experience as a professional wellness worker, researcher, and writer, I have gained a wealth of knowledge in mental health, disease, holistic healing, and trauma.
Perhaps more importantly, for five years after becoming a certified Breathwork Facilitator, I wrote exclusively for other international Breathwork Training schools including:
- Neurodynamic Breathwork
- Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release Institute
- Breath Masters
- Owaken Breathwork
- Alchemy of Breath
- The Buteyko Breathing Clinic
- Oxygen Advantage

The insights I gained from these schools, combined with my eight years of real-world experience, are woven into the breathwork training curriculum. The best part for you is that, through this single training, you’ll benefit from not only my extensive experience, but all of these schools’ teachings.
I also hold certifications in Clinical Hypnotherapy, Yoga Instruction, Reiki, and Holistic Nutrition, along with a degree in Media. Drawing from this diverse background, I integrate multiple modalities into my teachings to offer a well-rounded, holistic approach.
I love nothing more than sharing my hands-on, practical, and research-based leanings with others. When you graduate, you will have a depth of knowledge, confidence, and know-how that far surpasses most other facilitators around the world as well!
I Will Support and Coach You Every Step of the Way

As my trainee, it’s my mission to help you move through fear and step fully into your greatness. I’ll be there to support you, cheer you on, and build your confidence every step of the journey.
I’ll also encourage you to infuse your personality, skills, and gifts into your practice so your sessions feel authentic and deeply impactful. Together, we’ll alchemize your challenges into your greatest strengths.
Learn to Market Your Breathwork Offerings and Build a Thriving Practice
Did you know that most certified breathwork facilitators never actually facilitate long term? Many don’t feel confident because their training was too short or incomplete. Others receive excellent training but struggle to make breathwork a career because they were never taught how to market their offerings.
Breathwork facilitation is life-changing work, and the world needs more skilled facilitators. But if you can’t sustain your practice, fewer people benefit.
That’s why I’ll not only train you in safe, trauma-responsive facilitation—I’ll also teach you how to confidently market your breathwork, attract clients, and grow a sustainable practice. With my background as a 15-year professional wellness writer and SEO specialist, I’ll give you practical tools to succeed.

Breathwork Facilitator Training FAQ
When Does the Breathwork Training Start/What Are the Dates for the Online and In-person Segments?
Our training consists of two main units: the Self-Study Unit and the Seminars Unit.
The Self-Study Unit can be started at any time and typically takes 10–12 months to complete. By enrolling early, you’ll gain a valuable head start—allowing you to graduate sooner and easing your overall workload once the live seminars begin. We highly recommend registering before the next Seminars Unit launches so you can move through the material at your own pace, build a strong foundation, and feel spacious and well-prepared when live classes start.
Our next Seminars Unit will launch on Saturday, October 25th, 2025 and we will meet biweekly from 3-5 pm ET.
This unit includes:
- 20 live biweekly interactive Zoom sessions (2 hours each) over a 10-month period
- Bite-sized video lessons
- Practical activities you can complete at your own pace before each seminars
- It culminates with an 8-day in-person breathwork facilitator training in Mexico, scheduled for November 2026. This immersive, experiential segment is designed to deepen your skills and introduce advanced facilitation tools, including TRE, advanced touch techniques, Reiki, and sound therapy.
What is the Tuition?
We’ve intentionally kept our tuition lower than other GPBA-certified breathwork facilitator training programs to ensure it remains accessible to all. The cost for our 450-hour trauma-informed training is $5,800 USD.
To further support accessibility, we offer 20% bursaries for individuals in lower income brackets, as well as special conversion rates for Canadians affected by the weaker Canadian dollar.
In addition to bursaries, we provide flexible and interest-free monthly payment plans that allow you to spread payments over 10+ months for easier budgeting.
If you prefer to pay upfront, you’ll receive a 10% discount, bringing the total to $5,220 USD.
Please note that tuition covers all training hours, including the in-person segment, but does not include on-site accommodation for the 8-day intensive. We make every effort to keep on-site costs as accessible and reasonable as possible.
Will this Training Fit into a Busy Lifestyle?/How Many Hours Do I Need to Dedicate Per Week?
Our breathwork facilitator training is designed with flexibility in mind, so it fits even the busiest schedules. With live calls paced biweekly, you can complete the training with an average commitment of between 2-4 hours per week.
Where Does the In-Person Breathwork Training Segment Take Place?
Our 8-day in-person breathwork training takes place in the stunning coastal towns of Cabo or Sayulita, Mexico. Both locations are conveniently near major international airports and provide the ideal environment for deep personal growth and transformation during our immersive training intensives.
Is the Training Certified by the GPBA?
Yes, our dual-accredited breathwork facilitator training is certified by the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance, which upholds the highest standards for training programs. Even if you choose not to train with us, we recommend selecting a school with this certification to ensure you receive a comprehensive and high-quality training.
What is the GPBA and Why Should I Choose a Breathwork Training School that is Accredited By It?
The GPBA stands for the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance, an international organization that sets ethical and professional standards for breathwork facilitators and schools.
Why choose a GPBA-accredited school:
- Safety and Ethics: GPBA accreditation ensures the school follows strict safety protocols and ethical guidelines for working with clients.
- Quality Training: Accredited programs meet high standards for curriculum, instructor experience, and hands-on practice.
- Professional Recognition: Completing a GPBA-accredited program adds credibility to your certification, making it recognized globally.
- Support and Community: Accredited schools are connected to a wider network of facilitators and resources for ongoing professional development.
- Future-Proofing Your Practice: Breathwork has grown in popularity quickly, and regulations are not yet fully in place. However, the field is moving in that direction. Training with a non-GPBA school may mean you aren’t eligible for certification or insurance recognition in the future.
Choosing a GPBA-accredited program helps ensure your training is safe, recognized, and positioned for long-term professional credibility.
Is this Breathwork Training Certified By the International Breathwork Foundation (IBF)?
We are a member of the International Breathwork Foundation (IBF), a global nonprofit that supports and connects breathwork practitioners, provides resources and training, and promotes personal and collective transformation through conscious breathing.
There is some confusion, as many people believe the IBF accredits training schools. In fact, anyone can become a member of the IBF by paying the annual membership fee, but membership does not guarantee that a practitioner’s training is comprehensive. The only governing body that ensures training programs are thorough and safe is the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance (GPBA). When choosing a training school, we strongly recommend selecting one from the GPBA’s list of certified schools.
Is this a Trauma-informed Breathwork Facilitator Training?
Our breathwork facilitator training certification is trauma-informed and responsive, which is crucial because conscious connected breathing involves working with individuals’ traumas and subconscious programming, making them particularly vulnerable. To hold space effectively and safely, it’s essential to undergo a trauma-informed breathwork certification.
How Many Hours Is the Breathwork Training Program?
Our Breathwork Facilitator Training Certification is one of the most comprehensive in the industry, offering a robust 450-hour curriculum, spaced out over 12 months to ensure plenty of time for the absorption and integration of your learnings. You will graduate as a confident leader in the field, fully equipped to navigate the intense experiences that can arise in breathwork with grace, confidence, and expertise.
Is this a Unity Breathwork or a Breathing Space Certificate?
The course leader for this training is Megan Ashton, founder of Unity Breathwork. Megan has over 8 years of experience as a breathwork facilitator and 20 years as a wellness researcher and writer. She had also worked with several leading international breathwork training schools before becoming a teacher herself, giving her an unparalleled depth of knowledge in the field.
The training school is Make Some Breathing Space, an internationally recognized school that is GPBA-certified. Breathing Space has several course leaders, each teaching the core curriculum in their own unique way. Megan recognized the value of an in-person segment, so her training is hybrid, combining live online learning with an in-person intensive, while other Breathing Space cohorts are fully online.
Make Some Breathing Space emphasizes continued support, empowerment, the inner journey, strong community, and integrity. Its founder, Ben, sits on the GPBA Board of Ethics, advocating for safe, ethical practices across the breathwork field.
The Breathing Space curriculum is already incredibly robust at 400 hours, but Megan is passionate about giving her students the most comprehensive training possible, providing all the tools they need to really accel as breathwork faciltiators. Her cohort combines all the benefits of Breathing Space with the added value of in-person learning and Megan’s infusion of advanced facilitation skills and knowledge.
Upon graduation, you will receive a 450-hour double-accreditation certificate from both Breathing Space and Unity Breathwork.
What’s the Difference Between a Breathwork Facilitator Training and a Breathwork Practitioner Training?
Currently, there is no global regulatory body overseeing connected breathwork and its various offshoots. As a result, the terminology is not standardized, leading to different terms often referring to the same concepts. For instance, while some breathwork schools designate their graduates as “breathwork facilitators,” others use the term “breathwork practitioners,” both referring to the same role. Additionally, some schools implement a tiered training structure, where first-level students are called “breathwork facilitators,” and those who pursue further training are referred to as “breathwork practitioners,” suggesting that practitioners have more experience.
Our 450-hour training program is highly comprehensive, and there is no need for an ‘upgrade’ to use the term “breathwork practitioner.” Although we typically use “breathwork facilitator,” as it is the more traditional term, you are welcome to identify as a “breathwork practitioner” if you prefer after training with us.
How Much is a Typical Breathwork Facilitator Salary?
While becoming a millionaire as a breathwork facilitator might not be the norm, the potential to build a fulfilling and sustainable career in this field is absolutely within reach.
Connected breathwork is touted as the fastest and most effective pathway for healing and personal upliftment. If you are dedicated to sharing this work with others, the financial rewards will follow. And there has never been a better time to become a certified breathwork facilitator. By starting now, you position yourself ahead of the curve, giving yourself the opportunity to establish a name before connected breathwork gains broader recognition and competition increases.
We’ve seen facilitators successfully run group sessions with 20, 30, or even 40 participants. At just $50 per person for a 90-minute workshop, your potential earnings could be upwards of $1000 for a single class. While building to that point takes time and dedication, it’s an achievable goal.
Can I Continue Learning After Getting Certified?
Our breathwork facilitator training is distinctive because we offer a second-year teacher training program that equips you with the skills to take on apprentices and teach them to become breathwork facilitators.
This not only serves as a deeply fulfilling vocation that will deepen your own skills as a facilitator but can also be a significant additional income stream. We are proud to offer a platform that empowers all our trainees to step up and shine, and we believe our approach is unmatched in the breathwork facilitator training landscape.
